Repair worn factory door-check assemblies without replacing all four complete door checks. These replacement internal catches restore the detent action that helps keep the doors from swinging freely or closing unexpectedly.

The kit contains eight replacement catches—two per door—providing enough parts to rebuild all four door-check assemblies.

This kit will not repair a bent arm, cracked housing, broken mounting point or damaged rubber spring.

Installation Overview

Installation requires removing and opening each original door-check assembly:

1. Remove the door check from the vehicle.
2. Locate and carefully drill the housing’s spot welds until the plates separate.
3. Remove the two worn plastic catches while noting their orientation.
4. Retain and inspect the original rubber springs.
5. Lubricate the sliding components with graphite, PTFE/Teflon dry lubricant or an equivalent plastic-safe product.
6. Install the original springs with the new catches.
7. Reassemble and reinstall the door check.

Do not use petroleum-based lubricant. Petroleum products can damage the plastic catches and original rubber springs. Some mechanical ability and drilling are required.
