This camera does not fit the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 or Sierra 1500 merely because the year matches. The eBay compatibility table incorrectly includes newer-body trims such as RST, Trail Boss and other T1-platform applications.

Trucks with powered tailgate equipment generally use a different camera and wiring configuration.

Some aftermarket cameras generate fixed parking lines, while the factory infotainment system may generate dynamic steering guidelines.
Guideline appearance and movement can therefore differ from the original camera. Confirm whether this camera supplies fixed guidelines before installation. Do not cut or modify any configuration wire unless the camera manufacturer provides instructions for that exact wire.

A defective tailgate camera may cause:

Lower the tailgate and remove its interior access panel.

Remove the original camera from the tailgate-handle assembly.

Follow the original camera cable through the tailgate.

Disconnect the factory 8-pin connector near the rear bumper or spare-tire area.

Route the replacement cable through the original path.

Install the new camera using the original mounting position and fasteners.

Connect the 8-pin plug and secure the cable away from hinges and moving parts.

Test the image and parking guidelines before reinstalling the access panel.
Access to the chassis connector may be limited by the spare tire. Professional installation is recommended.
