Not suitable for the later DVD-based PCM 2.1 system.

• Fits the 6.5-inch Low MMI display only.  
• Does not fit the BMW 8.8-inch widescreen monitor.  
• Does not fit every E65, E66 or E67 produced through 2009.  
• Does not fit later display assemblies merely because their exterior housings appear similar.  
• Does not fit the rear-seat entertainment display unless its internal LCD number independently matches.  
• Does not convert a 6.5-inch system to an 8.8-inch system.  
• Does not add navigation, touchscreen operation or updated software.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝗖𝗗 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿

Replacement may be appropriate when the existing LCD has:

• Cracked or physically damaged glass  
• Permanent horizontal or vertical lines  
• Large black or discolored areas  
• Dead or stuck pixels  
• Color distortion  
• Image fading or uneven contrast  
• Internal liquid-crystal damage  
• An image that is present but visually damaged  

The monitor should be professionally diagnosed before ordering.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝘅

Replacing the LCD will not correct faults caused by:

• A failed MMI or navigation computer  
• Loss of vehicle power or ground  
• Damaged monitor wiring  
• Failed video or communication cables  
• Defective display control electronics  
• Backlight power-supply or inverter faults outside the LCD  
• Water-damaged circuit boards  
• Software or coding problems  
• A completely different display system  
• Damage to the exterior housing, bezel or mounting frame  

A blank screen does not automatically indicate a failed LCD panel.

𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Installation requires removal and disassembly of the factory control display.

• Disconnect the vehicle battery according to the BMW service procedure.  
• Use an anti-static work surface and suitable ESD protection.  
• Remove the monitor without damaging the dashboard trim or connectors.  
• Photograph cable routing and connector orientation before disassembly.  
• Handle flexible ribbon cables and connector locks carefully.  
• Never pull a ribbon cable without releasing its locking connector.  
• Avoid touching the visible LCD surface or internal electronic contacts.  
• Transfer brackets, insulation, shielding and mounting components from the original assembly as required.  
• Test the display before completely reinstalling the dashboard trim.  

Professional automotive-electronics installation is strongly recommended.

Replacing only the internal LCD with an identical compatible panel normally does not change the vehicle’s coding configuration.
