This component replaces the exterior touch-sensitive glass when the original digitizer is cracked, scratched, unresponsive or registering incorrect commands. It allows the original multimedia unit to be repaired without replacing the complete radio and navigation assembly.
This is the touchscreen digitizer only. It is not the LCD image panel, radio receiver, navigation computer, JBL amplifier or complete multimedia head unit.

A digitizer repairs the touch-sensitive surface only. Image, software and audio problems require separate diagnosis.

Installation requires removal and internal disassembly of the factory multimedia unit. The damaged digitizer must be separated from the LCD assembly without damaging the display, frame, ribbon cables or circuit boards.
Professional installation by an experienced automotive-electronics or display-repair technician is strongly recommended.
Test all areas of the touchscreen before permanently reassembling the unit or removing the exterior protective film. Avoid excessive pressure on the glass and do not sharply bend the attached flex cable.
Digitizer replacement normally does not require vehicle programming because the original radio electronics remain installed.
