Product Description

This electronic steering-lock emulator is designed to replace a failed ESL/ELV unit in compatible Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with the FBS3 immobilizer system. Once correctly programmed, it communicates with the vehicle’s EIS/EZS system and simulates normal steering-lock operation, including an audible locking sound.

This is an aftermarket diagnostic and replacement component. It is not a genuine Mercedes-Benz part.

Fitment is determined by the immobilizer system, EIS/EZS version, connector, and vehicle configuration—not by chassis code alone.

Compatible with FBS3 vehicles only. It is not intended for FBS4 systems. Send the vehicle VIN and original ESL/EIS information to a qualified automotive locksmith before ordering.

Programming Required

This emulator is not plug-and-play. Professional programming is required before installation. The procedure generally requires:

Removing or disconnecting the failed ESL/ELV.
Reading the EIS/EZS password with compatible Mercedes key-programming equipment.
Programming the emulator with the vehicle data.
Connecting the programmed emulator and testing vehicle operation.

Installation and programming should be completed by an experienced automotive locksmith or Mercedes-Benz electronics specialist. Programming tools, cables, software, and technical service are not included.

Indicator Status

Depending on the programming equipment and emulator version:

Green light: Programming was accepted and the unit is ready for testing.
Red light: Programming was unsuccessful or the key/EIS data does not match.
No light: Check the power supply, wiring, connector, and programming cable.

Important Notice

This product is intended only for lawful repair of a vehicle you own or are authorized to service. It will not repair every no-start condition. Diagnose the EIS/EZS, key, battery, wiring, and CAN communication system before replacing the steering lock.
